Incompetent
- - Doctors and nurses are great; billing is poor.
- - Long holds, callbacks rarely returned; the bill is incorrect and past due notices continue.
The doctors and nurses are great, but the billing department is utterly incompetent and infuriating. First, they are almost impossible to get in touch with -- interminable hold times, and although you can request a call back when it's your turn, they almost never call back.
Then when you finally do get them on the phone, they say they'll take care of your problem but never follow through. I've spent *countless* hours over six months trying to get them to fix an incorrect bill, which they acknowledge is incorrect and keep promising to send a revised claim to my insurer but they NEVER follow through. I've had to spend countless hours on this over the past six months having the same conversation over and over again with them, to no avail. It's like Groundhog Day.
And all the while they keep bombarding me with past due notices. If I could give zero stars, I would.

- - No response for 8 weeks; told labs were fine if no news.
- - Cholesterol and triglycerides were high.
- - RX sent to CVS; no Optum follow-up after recheck.
I was seen by a physician for a physical. I told him I had been off my cholesterol meds for several months due to moving and wait times for an appointment.
I was told if I didn't hear from him that my bloodwork was all good. I waited 8 weeks and never heard back from this physician. I checked my lab results on the portal and realized my cholesterol/triglyceride values were high. I called Optum and said I wanted to discuss my results and medication needs.
A clerical person finally got back to me and said Physician has sent the RX to CVS.
I have been on my meds and went for a blood recheck a week ago. Once again no response from anybody at Optum regarding my bloodwork.
Is there a new policy there that we have to review our own results? I will be looking for a new practitioner that is not part of Optum.

- - Optum's takeover caused departures and scheduling issues.
- - Wait times 30 minutes to over an hour.
- - Phone system is poor; billing staff unprofessional.
Since Optum took over Care Mount Medical, it has been a disaster. The doctors are leaving this practice in droves.
Wait time to schedule an appointment ranges from 30 min to an hour or until you can't wait any longer!
The phone system is terrible!
I had an appointment scheduled with Dr.
Keating, he left, Optum assigned different Dr. but apparently he is not going to be in that day. Unbelievable! I have to call back to reschedule but all that Optum can offer to me is NP ( a nurse).
If I would like to see a MD, first available app.
would be March, 2024. WOW!
Optum billing department has the most unprofessional and rude people I have ever spoken to.
Somebody should investigate Optum and see what's going on there.
This is outrageous!!!
- Location
- Long wait times
- Unprofessional staff
- Dirty offices
Preferred solution: Make people aware of unprofessional services.
User's recommendation: Find a different medical practice!

- - The reviewer says Caremount Medical rushed visits, poor support, bad phone/billing access, and urges BBB reporting, while criticizing Optum.
This company doesn't deserve the doctors that they forced into being a part of their group. Please report them to the better business bureau asap.
Never ever ever go to a doctor who is a part of Caremount medical.
They rush you in and out with minimal support. They only want your money. You never get a phone number that actually connects you with the office that you want to talk to. You have to go through a horribly inefficient phone system.
And then they make it impossible to get through to the billing inquiry line.
1 (88*) ***-**** doesn't work. It says "welcome to Verizon wireless. Your number cannot be completed as dialed"
Screw Optum. Screw Caremount medical.
Go to any other medical company.
Caremount and Optum are the medical mob. They are awful.
- No pros
- Medical professionals should quit
- Billing
- Prices
- Contact
Preferred solution: Full refund
User's recommendation: Stay away from Caremount and Optum .
Customer complaint
- - Spent 42 minutes on hold.
- - Call was answered then hung up.
- - I was told the call was important.
- - I rated the doctor and hospital.
42 minutes on hold. Finally pick up start to talk and get hung up on.
All while telling me how important my call was. Did star for doctor and hospital calling.
Picked up 1st ring. Hmmmm how important are your patients
Customer complaint
- - There are long hold times to check appointment times.
- - Doctors are great, but there are concerns about corporate takeover and greed over care.
Under no circumstances should ANYONE wait 12 minutes on hold to check an appointment time would have been longer but I hung up. The portal is just hideous Im a nurse and realize optum Northwell nuvance are taking over to receive blood money off the backs of its employees I realize greed always wins out over quality care.
Your Docs are great. Your infrastructure is a joke

Ex employee
Do not work here! I left before everyone in the pathollogy lab was fired for various trumped up BS. They do not care about employees at all.
Poor patient care by staff ie., reception, nurse, lab, and radilology
- - Caremount delays results and labs, inconsistent with other providers.
- - Nurse Stephanie rude, gave wrong information; MRI instructions unsafe.
My son has been seeing an endocrinologist at caremount. The doctor seems fine and is finally treating him for growth issue.
However delays and questionable lab results and misinformation have occurred numerous times during diagnostic process due to unprofessional and uncaring staff. They have delayed getting results to doctor after every test. When I asked the nurse Stephanie how blood test could be so drastically different from a recent one at pediatricians office she responded who knows it could be the lab. That's absurd and scary.
My son's regular pediatrician uses quest and results are very different from caremount lab for same blood work within weeks of each other. All labs mysteriously come back normal at caremount but never normal at other providers including hospital blood tests. Caremount needs to be fully investigated in terms of there labs. Also I was given wrong instructions for my son's brain mri with contrast.
The wrong instructions could have been dangerous to my son's health. Thank goodness I got mri appt much sooner with northeast with proper instructions. Lab technicians don't care about patient care, rafiliology phone staff are giving wrong information in patient care, and my son's doctor's particular nurse "Stephanie" is rude and awful. She insulted my son s weight rather than acting in a caring and urgent manner with regards to his health.
I have no confidence in her ability to handle any patient info or messages to the doctor.
Once my son's treatment starts (because it is urgent for his growth right now) I will probably have to switch to a different practice for his ongoing care even if I like the doctor. Caremount now opium is just too dangerous when it comes to patient care.care.care.
- Too many to list right now
Preferred solution: Faster action on needed care. Qualified professional nursing staff is needed and radiology and lab need to be investigate to protect patient from inaccurate results and care.
User's recommendation: Do not get involved with caremount medical now optimum. You will regret it and especially when it comes to children please stay away from caremount. Use other practices like navient or ct children's hospital or northeast medical but protect your children from caremount. See if a doctor you like practices with a different organization if they are with caremount.
Terrible Phone system.
- - On hold for 30 minutes and I couldn't book Radiology appointments.
- - This has happened before; some departments offer call-backs, others don't.
I just hung up after being on hold for 30!!! minutes.
I was trying to make a couple of appointments in the Radiology department, but I gave up. This has happened before and I have seriously considered going elsewhere. I was determined today to get these appointments made but I couldn't hold on any longer. I literally shudder when I have to call almost any department at Caremount.
Why do some departments give you the option to leave your name and phone number for a call back but others don't? There has got to be a better way.
User's recommendation: Make sure you have lots of patience when trying to get anyone on the phone at Caremount.

Verified ReviewerHarrasement from the Billing dept
Care mount has a received a check for payment in full but they still send the same bill. After we have satisfied the bill it is recorded that we have paid in full
- Not being upfront with patient where charges are applied
- Inability to reach doctor offices directly
- No honest concern for patients
Preferred solution: A paid in full receipt and or stop being harrased
Continued disappointment
- - Difficult to get timely appointments; calls go unanswered.
- - New doctor didn't return calls or respond promptly; I would not recommend CareMount.
Where do I start. First of all I have a primary care doctor yet every time Im sick and I call to get an appointment theyre either not in the office or dont have any availability for weeks.
This is inexcusable you should leave some time for call ins. They will want you to go to the urgent care walk in. Which I feel is Unacceptable. This is why I have a primary doctor! Since Dr.
Susan Wiesel who I loved and adored retired. Dr Wiesel highly recommend my new Dr. upon meeting her she reassured me that with my history medically that I would be in good hands so I felt comfortable going with her well needless to say I feel now that that was a huge mistake as she never returned any of my calls will say that oh she never got the messages. She then tells me I can reach her through the patient portal Where she will respond within a timely manner.
Well it has been over a week since I emailed her and I still havent heard from her. This leads me to believe that she doesnt put the time and care into her patients. I dont know whats going on with Care Mount but it feel like theyre iimplementing a form of universal healthcare without people even knowing it. I dont feel ypu get the patient care that you used to get even if the doctors were faking it they made you feel like you were valued.
For this reason alone I would never recommend CareMount medical group!
These are just my feelings on my experiences. Hope others have had better experiences!
User's recommendation: Look for doctors outside of CareMount they have become to big!
Unable to get a hold of anyone to speak to
- - Spent over 45 minutes on hold with automated prompts and no one answered.
- - Since Caremount took over, calling to schedule is difficult.
Trying to call my docotor to schedule a very important appointment. I have been waiting on the phone for over 45 minutes as of now just trying to get ahold of a person.
I keep getting the automated messages after I had pressed all the prompts and no one has answered the call.
This is absolutely ridiculous that we, as patients, are expected to wait this long on a phone to try to reach somebody. This has happened to me numerous times since Caremount has taken over the prior medical practice I belonged to and it is completely unacceptable.

- - Called Caremont billing 888-859-**** three times; same woman hung up and couldn't explain the 2/8/22 bill.
- - Finally got help from another representative.
I called the Caremont billing number 888-859-**** three times and all three times the same woman hung up on me as she could not answer my questions about the wrong total on the 2/8/22 bill I received. After numerous calls to Caremount Mt Kisco billing I finally got somebody nice who helped me.
You need to get rid of this horrible woman. It was today about 1:40 pm 2/14/22 Barbara Mergardt 914-261-****.
- Good group
- Personnel not a-1
User's recommendation: Don’t call the Caremount billing in Baltimore MD with disputes. They hung up on me 3 times. Call your local Caremount offices.

Verified Reviewer |Not a happy patient
I have been a patient of the Caremount Medical team for many years now and just recently have noticed a big change in doctors attitudes, concerns, and willingness to listen to patients, in addition to the customer service staff for billing and reception. I receive constant emails from Caremount but when I submit an email to Caremount, I am ignored for days and even weeks at times.
This is unacceptable and hurtful to me as I originally thought my health was a true concern for the doctors I have seen. Lately it has been something that I cannot take any longer. I feel I have to change my doctors and medical care from Caremount to someone else. I feel that before I do this, I am reaching out to whoever will listen to see if I can get ANYONE to listen to me and perhaps make some changes????
Needless to say, I am extremely upset and will not be coming back unless I hear back from ANYONE. Thank you
- No honest concern for patients
Preferred solution: Find another doctor and/or group
